2009 Winner Announced

Congratulations to Assessor Laura Mecha and the City of Muskego, Wisconsin, winner of the 2009 Excellence in Communications Award. The Assessor’s Office effectively joined forces with the City’s GIS Coordinator to provide assessment information to the public, coordinating information from Tyler’s Integrated Assessment System with the City’s GIS system and the County’s tax listing/bill systems. As a result, taxpayers were more prepared for the Open Book period where property owners have the opportunity to question assessments. In general, the public experienced a greater level of satisfaction with the service they received from their local assessment office.

We applaud the City of Muskego’s efforts to keep the public informed and to improve service to property owners.
