Position Objective
As Programmer for Tyler’s AES solution, you would have an opportunity to work for a growing company developing integrated property appraisal solutions and specializing in applications that deal with the unique business requirements of the California real estate market. You will be supporting a mission critical application used by County Tax Assessors to value residential real estate throughout the state of California. This is a Client Server application developed in Microsoft Access connected via ODBC to Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases 5 – 15 GB in size.
You will be maintaining a VBA code base containing over 200,000 lines of code and numerous classes. This position requires a programmer with specific skills that go beyond a general knowledge of Microsoft Access. In each of our installations, our product is deployed on 50-100 desktops and may be segmented between multiple offices over a wide area network. Therefore, a thorough knowledge of ODBC client server techniques is required. T-SQL and/or PL/SQL are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Modify client code to support changing business requirements
- Development of MS Access forms and reports
- Track product build releases and source code control
- Will work as an implementation/support team along with business analysts and database administrators to define, document, develop and test solutions to customer needs
- Will work directly with external customers
Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in sophisticated MS Access development of forms/reports
- 4+ years of experience with VBA and Object Oriented Classes
- Experience with SQL server in a client/server environment
- Experience with T-SQL, PL/SQL, DTS, SSIS is a plus
- Data conversion skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimal travel may be required. Customers are in California
